In line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts towards achieving a healthy, clean and livable Anambra State, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has taken the campaign to Orumba South to ensure that the people of the area benefit maximally from the programme.
Speaking during the launch of the ‘Operation Keep Orumba South Clean and Liveable’ initiative at the Nkwo Umunze Market, Umunze, headquarters of Orumba South Council Area, Prince Uchendu maintained that the aim of the programme was to create awareness and sensitize the people about the need for a healthier, environmentally friendly, and economically stimulating atmosphere in Orumba South.
The Orumba South Council Boss, while commending Governor Soludo for his initiative towards improving the health condition of the people, called on the people of Orumba South to always keep their environs clean, especially markets and shun un-environmental practices such as disposal of refuse in drainages and pollution among others.
He emphasized that the Operation Keep Orumba South Clean and Livable Initiative also includes security of lives and property of the people of the area, even as he urged local security outfits, traditional rulers and town union bodies in various communities in Orumba South to join hands in flushing out miscreants in their localities.
Prince Uchendu who called for collective efforts to make Orumba South not only environmentally friendly but also the neatest local government area in the State, encouraged the people of the area to continue to support Governor Soludo’s developmental efforts, stressing the importance of a clean, secured and sustainable environment in promoting health, security and prosperity of the people.
Also speaking, a former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Chief Emeka Sibudu, while lauding Governor Soludo’s developmental strides in the State, stressed the importance of a clean and healthy environment for the people of Orumba South in view of the economic, health and social benefits therein.
Chief Sibeudu extolled the cordial working relationship existing between Governor Soludo and Orumba South Council Chairman, adding that any environmental and business activity against Governor Soludo’s vision will not be tolerated in Orumba South.
He called on Ndi Orumba South to adhere strictly to the Council Chairman’s initiatives and directives to ensure a cleaner, healthier, and prosperous Orumba South Local Government Area.
The exercise was attended by many dignitaries including traditional rulers, Presidents-General, market people, youths, among others.
