Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles for showing resilience in the AFCON finals against Ivory Coast.
The Governor’s wife, who spoke shortly after Nigeria lost by one goal to two to the host nation in an engaging final, described Nigeria’s overall outing in the continental tournament as excellent and praise-worthy.
She noted that despite winning the silver medal, the team played with courage, showed determination, and made many supporters proud.
Mrs. Soludo, who stated that even though the final’s result was not what everyone expected, congratulated Nigeria for reaching the finals and putting smiles on the faces of millions of people at a time like this.
The Governor’s wife also urged other football lovers to continue to cheer up the team and understand that defeats are part of every contest.
She wished Nigeria well in future outings and expressed hope that the country would clinch the trophy in subsequent tournaments.
