Work is in progress on Ozubulu – Ihembosi – Ukpor road in Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

 

This was observed by the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure during site inspection as part of their oversight duties.

the six-point-five-kilometer road project awarded by Anambra State government has underground drainage at the Eke Ihembosi axis of the road and three box culverts

 

The road is also at the soil compartment stage.

 

Addressing Journalists after the road projects, the Committee Chairman, Honourable Emma Nwafor, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far , highlighting the importance of the underground drainage in controlling erosion.

Honourable Nwafor, representing Orumba South Constituency, emphasized the need for the contractors to expedite action on the road, noting that Governor Soludo does not accept excuses for delay.

 

On his part, the member representing Ekwusigo constituency, Honourable Ikenna Ofodeme, praised Governor Soludo for prioritizing the project, shifting its status from a campaign promise to a tangible reality.

While assuring the Governor of Ekwusigo constituency’s support to his administration, Honourable Ofodeme also thanked the Governor for his commitment to combating the level of crime that has taken place in the past.

 

Commending the project, the Chairman Seahorse Oil, Mr. Ebuka Onunkwo, described the road as a significant gift from the governor, especially for its impact on eight villages in Ihembosi.

The House also extended condolences to Mr. Onunkwo for the loss of his late mother and to the people of Ihembosi for the loss of their son .
