The Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Honourable Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne says Governor Chukwuma Soludo is committed to giving children living with sickle cell anemia the best healthcare services.
Honourable Nwabunwanne stated this when the National Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Aisha Edward-Mmaduagwu and some children paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.
Addressing the group, the Commissioner appreciated Mrs. Mmaduagwu for her tireless efforts and sacrifices towards ensuring the wellbeing of the children and pledged to support them, as well as help to reach out to some affluent individuals to help and advance their course.
Honourable Nwabunwanne further assured them that the current administration of Prof. Soludo is ready to partner with them and that government is working round the clock to see that no individual or group is left out in the State.
Earlier, Mrs. Maduagwu who commended the State government and the Commissioner in particular for their efforts towards restoring peace to most of the communities in the State, revealed that the visit was to intimate the commissioner on some of the challenges facing the children and seek his assistance.
She listed lack of a shelter for the children, land tussle with some parts of Agulu community, among others as some of the challenges they needed the Commissioner’s assistance.
