The Transition Committee Chairman for Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Mr Chimezie Obi has charged the people of Anambra State to key into the Agricultural programme of the Soludo administration to mitigate the impending hunger as a result of the present high cost of living in the country.

 

Speaking on the latest edition of ABS Radio and Television Programme, Tonimas half hour in Awka, Mr Obi expressed worry over the high cost of living in the country as a result of hike in the price of essential commodities especially food stuffs and commended the giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in key sectors of the State economy particularly Agriculture.

 

Mr Obi recalled how Agriculture was the main stay of the economy before the advent of Oil and charged youths to embrace farming to ensure enough food for both consumption and export to earn foreign exchange to stabilize the Naira.

 

He said that as part of move to ensure bumper harvest this year Ekwusigo Local Government Area recently distributed farm seedlings and equipment including pumping machines to practicing farmers in the area to support them for improved yield.

 

Mr Obi used the opportunity to call on affluent Ndi Anambra to support the private public Community partnership of the Anambra State Government for enhanced development of Anambra State.
