A business executive, Chief Michael Okafor- Nwofia has called on the federal government to put up measures that will end the acute hunger in Nigeria.

Chief Okafor- Nwofia who was speaking to the ABS in Awka, regretted that Nigeria as a country has been plunged into a huge economic mess by successive administrations that now requires a careful and workable economic policy to salvage the country from the quagmire.

The business executive advised president Bola Tinubu to immediately assemble an economic think tank team, that will fashion out modalities to ameliorate the sufferings bedeviling Nigerians at the moment.

According to Chief Okafor- Nwofia, the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government and their inability to utilize the money generated as a result of the subsidy removal has brought hyperinflation in the country.

He further regretted that ordinary Nigerians, civil servants and many more whose salaries have remained the same since the subsidy removal are left to die in penury in a country of surplus.

The business mogul called on state governors, especially in the southeast region to double their efforts in ensuring economic viability and sustainability of the region, as well as end the insecurity in Igbo land, and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state for his laudable achievements so far.
