The Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr Nelson Omenugha, has called on private individuals and corporate bodies to partner the state government in the area of human capital development.
Dr Omenugha made the call while discussing Governor Soludo-led administration and youth development on Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS flagship radio program, “Nzuko Anambra”.
Dr Omenugha, during the phone-in program, explained the steps taken by the Governor to address youth restiveness as an intentional approach to stimulate the economy, curb insecurity and build a bankable workforce.
He explained that Governor Soludo is particular about Anambra youths having a great future, which explains why his cabinet is made of mostly youths.
He pointed out that the Governor, since assumption of office, has prioritized youth affairs with creation of about ten thousand jobs in education and health sectors, training and empowerment of five thousand youths under One Youth Two Skills Entrepreneurship Programme, training of twenty-thousand youths in digital skills, creation of viable sports economy, encouraging youth involvement in agriculture, among others.
Dr Omenugha used the opportunity to call on private individuals and corporate bodies to partake in the youth project by getting one or two young people out of the street through skill acquisition and empowerment.
Noting that building youths that are useful at home and exportable abroad is everyone’s business, Dr Omenugha emphasized that the private and corporate partnerships will help to expand and accommodate more people.
He reassured that Governor Soludo is determined to ensure that Anambra youths are truly the bridge to the future as captured in his manifesto, and encouraged everyone to get involved.
