Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has approved the appointments of new permanent secretaries across the civil service ministries in the state.

 

A release sign by his Press Secretary Mr Christian Aburime In line with his reforms agenda to ensure transparency, accountability and optimal delivery of good governance to Ndi Anambra, the new appointments were subjected to stringent due process and merit, not minding extraneous factors such as state of origin or any other affiliation.

 

It explained that a meticulous and transparent process was employed in the selection of prospective candidates for the esteemed positions of Permanent Secretaries and recognizing the overriding importance of fairness and meritocracy, a comprehensive search method was meticulously crafted and implemented.

 

According to the release the uncompromising process includes the

Computer Based Exam

where candidates underwent rigorous aptitude tests and criteria such as professional spread, Local Government Area (LGA) representation, and remaining years in service were carefully considered who ensured the identification of high-performing individuals in different professions and senatorial zones who are poised to excel within the Civil Service.

 

 

It further disclosed that acknowledging the dedication and contributions of candidates in their respective ministries, a performance-centric approach was integrated and those who exhibited exceptional commitment and hard work were duly recognized, aligning with the principle of rewarding merit and fostering a culture of excellence.

 

 

 

The released said that as a final layer of scrutiny, each shortlisted candidate underwent a one-on-one interview with the Governor which allowed for a deeper understanding of the candidates’ aspirations, vision, and alignment with the government’s objectives, ensuring a well-rounded evaluation.

 

It pointed out that historically, the selection of Permanent Secretaries solely rested with the prerogative of the Governor but this time, a deliberate shift towards a transparent search process was initiated aimed at upholding principles of fairness, equal opportunity, and the identification of the most qualified candidates.
