Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU , has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Chukwuma Soludo, lauding his visionary leadership and commitment to the state’s progress.
During a solidarity match, ASATU commended the transformation going on in all sectors of the state economy within two years of his administration.
The solidarity march commenced from Ekwueme Square through Arroma junction and the state’s Secretariat, then back to Ekwueme Square.
During the match, participants carried placards with messages of appreciation and solidarity, highlighting the governor’s numerous achievements just within two years.
Addressing the gathering, the National President of ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo commended Governor Soludo for his proactive approach to governance, which he said has brought about tangible improvements in various sectors across the state including infrastructural development to healthcare and education among others.
Barrister Akpudo noted the governor’s inclusive and consultative style of leadership, which according to him has fostered collaboration between the government and grassroot organizations and ensured that the needs and aspirations of the people are adequately addressed.
He urged the Governor to enlist the Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service into Anambra State’s security apparatus to help combat insecurity.
The President, ASATU Women’s Wing, Mrs Ifeoma Okaro along with Secretary General, Lady Njide Anusi, observed that the Governor holds the key to solving the issues in Anambra, pledging continued support from the union.
Also speaking, ASATU Youth Leader, Mr. Ken Okolo, commended Governor Soludo for prioritizing youth empowerment, citing initiatives like “One Youth, Two Skills” and the Solution Innovation District.
On their parts, the first National Vice President of ASATU, Professor Charles Nwadigwe, alongside ASATU leader for Anambra South, Sir Chika Muomaife and his Anambra Central counterpart, Mr. Ikechukwu Oforkansi, as well as Secretary General of Nkpor Development Union, Dr Samuel Aroh, lauded the Governor for fulfilling numerous promises to the people of Anambra.
Receiving ASATU at the state’s Secretariat, the Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe highlighted the Governor’s achievements across various sectors, including teacher employment, healthcare enhancement, and scholarship programmes.
