The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has assured commercial bus drivers that he will continue to deliver value for every tax they pay in the state.
Governor Soludo gave the assurance when he met with a group of shuttle bus drivers at Ugwunwasike link road, Ogidi, which was recently completed by his administration.
The Governor, who was returning from Okpoko where he commissioned twelve kilometers of roads out of the fifteen kilometers representing nine roads he awarded in Okpoko, was surprised by the shuttle drivers who waited for him on the road to praise him for his massive road infrastructure drive in the state.
Governor Soludo, who explained that Okpoko deserves all the intervention it is getting in fulfillment of his promises to the people, said that all the roads in the area will get a face lift, and enjoined transporters to ensure prompt payment of their taxes to enable the state government accelerate the good work of transforming the state.
The Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA, Brigade, Mr Celestine Anere, who was on ground with his team to maintain law and order in the area, extolled Governor Soludo for his tireless efforts in caring and maintaining investors’ confidence in all parts of the state.
Commending Governor Soludo’s achievements in road construction and elimination of touts from the roads, the spokesman for the drivers, Mr. Osita Obi, said that the drivers were on a road tour to see for themselves the quality and durability of the road being constructed by the Soludo administration.
He thanked the Governor for bringing civilization to their city, and assured him of their continuous payment of tax, and support during his second term bid.
