Christians all over the world are observing yesterday as Palm or Passion Sunday.

It marks the end of the forty-day Lenting season and the beginning of the Holy week.

Palm Sunday is in observance of the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem as a King which culminated in his arrest, trial, crucifixion, death on the cross of calvary and His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

There were services in all the churches during which the faithful took part in a procession where they waved palm fronds singing Hosanna in the Highest, meaning Save Us Now.

Speaking on the significance of the Palm Sunday, the President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Anambra State, Bishop Moses Ezedebego charged Christians to use the period of the holy week in building bridges of trust and total reconciliation.

Bishop Ezedebego reminded Christians of the need to use of the period in praying for God’s intervention in series of challenges facing the country especially insecurity, hunger, economic summersault among others.

Bishop Ezedebego tasked leaders at different levels on making policies that will improve the living standards of the people.
