The Anambra State governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has described the passing of Obosi-born legendary Nollywood icon, Chief Amaechi Muonagor as heartbreaking.

The governor’s wife who disclosed this in a statement released in Awka, remembered her last visit to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi, in December last year, where the Nollywood veteran was receiving treatment.

She said that from her chats with Chief Muonagor and assurances by the medical team at the hospital, she had hoped for a more positive outcome, regretting that every effort to save him did not bring the results that she desired.

Mrs Soludo also disclosed that she had hoped to visit the Nollywood icon again to personally check on his recovery and described the news of his sudden departure as heart-wrenching.

She explained that Chief Muonagor’s demise is a big blow to Anambra State and the Nigerian entertainment industry, where he made a solid mark as an exceptional actor and role model.

While extending her condolences to the Muonagor’s family of Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, especially to the wife, Hope Chikodi Muonagor, the governor’s wife asked the family to take courage in the great legacies that Chief Muonagor left behind.

The governor’s wife prayed for the repose of his soul and asked everyone to continue to remember the family in their prayers in this holy week.
