The Archbishop Eccelestical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has urged politicians, leaders, and the nation as a whole to repent and embrace lives of sacrifice and total submission for the betterment of the society and humanity.

 

Speaking at Saint Peter’s Parish, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area during a Good Friday service, Archbishop Ibezim emphasized that Good Friday symbolizes Christians’ remembrance of Christ’s crucifixion, the ultimate sacrifice for humanity.

Archbishop Ibezim encouraged Christians to use the occasion for introspection, reflecting on its historical significance and its relevance in their lives.

 

Archbishop Ibezim stressed that the significance of Good Friday lies in living a life of sacrifice, mirroring Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for the salvation of mankind.

He called on believers to emulate this spirit of sacrifice for the betterment of the world around them.

 

Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim described Good Friday as a period for sober reflection and thanksgiving.

He highlighted that the incarnation of God through Jesus Christ offers hope for the State and Nigeria as a whole.
