The recent rainfall in the state was not felt in Idemili North Local Government Area, following constant desilting of drainage channels in various communities of the council area.

The exercise which was vigorously carried out and inspected by the Transition Committee Chairman for Idemili North council area, Chief Chuks-Brown Igboanua, brought about free flow of flood water while it rained.

Speaking on the development, Chief Igboanua said that for five consecutive days, he deployed double capacity tippers and pay loaders to remove heaps of refuse littering the roads.

Chief Igboañua who frowned at the attitude of uncooperative residents warned that any further littering of the roads with refuse from desilted gutters must attract strict sanctions and litigation.

He said that for the vision of a clean, green liveable homeland of the Governor to be achieved, all hands must be on deck noting that cleanliness is a sure way of promoting healthy living.

The Idemili North Mayor assured that Idemili North council area will continue to support all the lofty policies of Governor Soludo in ensuring better living for Ndi Anambra.
