As Christians worldwide commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, today the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has urged believers to embrace the spirit of forgiveness exemplified by Jesus on the cross of Calvary.

In his Easter message, Archbishop Ibezim emphasized forgiveness as a cornerstone of Christian faith, urging followers to embody the virtue in their lives.

The prelate lamented the pervasive levels of animosity and anger within the society, noting that it has fueled negative vices across the country and challenged Christians to confront the roots of animosity and anger, and seek avenues for reconciliation and healing in their personal relationships and broader society.

Highlighting the significance of Easter, Archbishop Ibezim, urged Christians to reflect on the profound message of redemption and forgiveness in the Easter narrative, calling them to extend forgiveness to others as Christ did.

He called upon Nigerian leaders to prioritize the well-being of the nation’s citizens, emphasizing the importance of policies and programmes that will foster unity, peace, and reconciliation among the citizenry.
