The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has described Easter as the bedrock of Christian faith and hope for salvation.

In his Easter Message to the people of Orumba South, Prince Uchendu noted that the joy of Easter is anchored on Christ’s triumph over death, urging them to remember the reason for the season by extending love and charity to one another.

The Orumba South Council Boss enjoined affluent citizens of Orumba South to use the occasion of Easter celebration to affect people’s lives positively through various corporate works of mercy such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, giving alms to the poor among others.

He urged Christians to always see trials and temptations as gateways to salvation, citing example with Christ’s travails, death and divine resurrection which Christians commemorate on Easter.

Prince Uchendu called on those in leadership positions in the country to use the Easter celebration to make sacrifices and lead with the love of God and also introduce policies and programmes that will boost the nation’s economy.

While wishing Ndi Orumba South a happy Easter celebration, the Council Mayor asked them to remain peaceful even as they make merry and continue to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
