The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has called on Christians to love one another as much as Jesus Christ did for humanity when he died on the cross.

Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that Bishop Ezeokafor made the call in his 2024 Easter message while speaking on the significance of Easter celebration at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.

The Catholic Prelate who described Easter as the greatest celebration in the Christian world noted that it is the basis of Christianity because according to him, if Jesus Christ did not resurrect from death, there will be nothing like Christianity

Most Reverend Ezeokafor expressed joy that Easter brought man the greatest joy and relief as it reminds Christians that Christ paid the greatest sacrifice for man’s salvation by reconciling man and God through his death on the cross.

He decried the high rate of economic hardship in Nigeria which has brought untold hardship upon many citizens and urged governments at all levels to emulate the sacrificial life of Jesus Christ by prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians over their selfish interests so that Nigeria will attain unprecedented development.

Most Reverend Ezeokafor stressed the need for Christians to use the occasion of Easter celebration which signifies the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death to resurrect from sin by living a holy life at all times.
