The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, the Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has charged those entrusted with leadership roles to always learn to show appreciation to God at the end of their various tenures of office.

 

Bishop Ezeofor who gave the charge at Holy Trinity parish Igboukwu, the headquarters of Igboukwu Archdeaconry during an appreciation Thanksgiving by Sir Chris Mmaduaburochukwu Ikeh on the successful end of his four-year reign as the president General of Igboukwu Development Union IDU described leadership as a herculean task.

 

According to the Right Reverend Ezeofor, it is not appropriate for people to congratulate those appointed or elected into various positions due to the challenges they will face, Instead, people should only congratulate leaders when they finish their tenures in office with a record of achievements.

 

Bishop Ezeofor reminded the people of the need to always pray for and support their leaders to enable them deliver on their mandate.

 

He described salvation as a personal thing which is neither inherited nor marketable, and charged Leaders at different levels to aspire to use their individual positions in working out their salvation.

 

Right Reverend Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical fellowship in the Anglican communion EFAC Nigeria, charged the faithful to always anchor their faith and trust in God in order to overcome the vicissitudes of life.

 

He commended the immediate past president General of Igboukwu Development Union, Sir Chris Ikeh for his landMark achievements in Igboukwu including the successful election and coronation of the traditional ruler of Igboukwu, Igwe Alexander Azike, and enthronement of lasting peace in Igboukwu which he said led to his appointment into the peace committee of Anambra State by the government.

 

In a speech, the celebrant Sir Chris who is the Chairman Peace and Reconciliation committee, ASATU, Anambra state, narrated the tortuous journey of his four-years administration as the president General of Igboukwu said that the essence of the Thanksgiving was to thank God for His mercies and blessings during his tenure and commended the church for its prayers.

 

 

The Wife, Lady Ngozi Ikeh, said that God is always behind the husband throughout his four-years administration as the president General of Igboukwu Development Union, saying that the tenure of Sir Chris brought many transformations in the area.

 

The traditional Ruler of Igboukwu, Igwe Alexander Azike and Wife, the Permanent Secretary Anambra State Ministry of Information, Sir Chinedu Ikeh, litany of clergy, women from Nike Anglican Diocese, President Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, Director of Media and communications of Aguata Diocese Mr Abuchi Nwozor, among others attended the service.

 

Also in attendance are, the Member representing Aguata Federal constituency at National Assembly Chief Dominic Okafor and Registrar Aguata Diocese, Barrister Obumneme Okafor.

 

A special number by Lady Ngozi Ikeh, and anthem by the Archdeaconry choir, series of prayers and Thanksgiving also featured during the service which was facilitated by the Archdeacon of Igboukwu Archdeaconry Venerable Emmanuel Nwankwo.
