The Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Mrs Ify Obinabo has collaborated with the Anambra State Police command in apprehending one Ikechukwu Okigbo for allegedly beating up Mrs Joy Nwabuobi in Awka.
According to Mrs Nwabuobi, Mr Okigbo was her late brother’s driver, but the issue happened after she asked him to repark the car because of the constant complaints by the tenants.
She also said that she quietly urged Mr Okigbo to repark but unfortunately, the whole situation took a different turn when the middle-aged man pounced on her and left her with injuries.
Reacting to the news, Mrs Obinabo revealed that she took action immediately when she was informed by partnering the police in arresting the culprit.
The Women Affairs Commissioner noted that she will not relent until justice is served in the matter and warn other intending perpetrators to desist from laying their hands on women as the government of Prof Chukwuma Soludo has zero tolerance for such inhumane and dastardly acts.
