The remains of the late Mrs Fidelia Ifedigbo have been committed to the mother earth at her family compound in Amorji village, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area.

 

Late Mrs Ifedigbo, who died at the age of sixty-eight, was described by her mourners as very kind-hearted and hospitable till her demise.

The final journey of the deceased started with a funeral service held at Saint Mary’s Anglican Church, Agulu, officiated by the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, where the Church choir praised God for her exemplary life through special renditions.

 

In a sermon, Most Reverend Ibezim reminded Christians that God will judge everyone according to their deeds on earth, and enjoined them to work hard to escape hell fire by living a holy life.

The Archbishop described the late Mrs Ifedigbo as a great achiever who raised all her children in fear of God, and prayed for the repose of her soul.

 

He stressed the need for the Ifedigbo family members to immortalize the deceased by naming a building after her in order to keep her legacies evergreen.

Speaking on behalf of her family, the first son of the deceased, Chief Osita Ifedigbo described their mother as a selfless woman who served God and humanity with her resources.

 

He said that they will continue to live by faith, trust in God and serve Him with their resources as exemplified by their mother, and expressed gratitude to all who consoled them on the death of their mother.

At a reception held at Saint Peter’s Church field Agulu for those who attended the ceremony, some friends of the first son of the deceased, including former Governor Peter Obi, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo and a former member that represented Anaocha One Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Azubuike Okoye, expressed feeling of grief over the loss and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest in His bosom.

 

The burial ceremony of the late Mrs Ifedigbo, who is survived by four children and eleven grandchildren, climaxed with interment and performances by her family members and relatives.
