The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has described the people of Nawfija in Orumba South Local Government Area as industrious, peaceful and united individuals whose commitments towards community development have moved the community to greater heights.

 

Speaking at Ohukabia-Nawfija, while commissioning the phase one of the multimillion-naira Ohukabia-Nawfija Daily Market, initiated by the Ohukabia Universal Forum, Prince Uchendu commended them for keying into Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda especially his Akuluo Uno vision.

 

The Orumba South Council Boss who lauded the architectural design and largeness of the market, noted that since Ndi Orumba South are known for agriculture, the Ohukabia-Nawfija Daily Market will serve as a selling point for various commodities which will in turn boost the revenue profile of the traders and government.

 

Prince Uchendu enjoined the people of the area to pray for their sons and daughters in the diaspora as well as those at home to progress in their endeavours and urged them to continue to give maximum support to Governor Soludo in appreciation for the numerous development projects his administration is undertaking in Orumba South, including giving approval for the construction of the Ohukabia-Nawfija Daily Market among others.

 

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor commended the people of Ohukabia-Nawfija for embarking on construction of such a magnificent market and assured them that Governor Soludo’s administration will continue to remember them in many ways.

 

In their separate speeches, the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Eddy Mogor, the traditional ruler of Nawfija, Igwe Clifford Okeke, President, Ohukabia Development Union, Professor Benjamin Okpukpara as well as the Coordinator, Ohukabia Universal Forum, Engineer Ben Agu, thanked the Orumba South Council Chairman, for his bold steps to ensure the realization of the Ohukabia-Nawfija Daily Market, expressing the hope that the market will help to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

 

Highlights of the event were the official unveiling of the market by Prince Uchendu and cultural dance by the women of Ohukabia-Nawfija among others.
