Governor Chukwuma Soludo says former Anambra State Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife lived a life of service.

He stated this during the burial service of the late former Governor at Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.

Governor Soludo recalled that Ezeife left behind a government based on merit as meritocracy was what he lived for.

According to Governor Soludo, former Governor Ezeife was a stickler for law and due process, stating that the Ezeife the world had buried would not have allowed the printing of brochure for his burial which breached the Anambra State burial law.

Governor Soludo said he had received requests from some people in the past to grant them waivers in respect of the burial law, which he refused.

The Governor highlighted that the fact that the late Ezeife started out from a humble beginning, he forged ahead and excelled at the University College, Ibadan, Harvard University in America and Makarere University in Uganda among others.

The Governor advised all who had travelled from far and wide for the burial of the late Ezeife to insist on living out the kind of glorious life that the former governor lived and prayed that Anambra should be blessed with thousands of individuals like the Late Ezeife.

He thanked the Salvation Army minister who gave the sermon for pointing out that Ezeife led a life of purpose and a life in Christ.

Governor Soludo described Ezeife as the change he preached and one who lived out the true meaning of what he preached and did when he was Permanent Secretary and the Governor of Anambra State.

The Governor pointed out that Ezeife was a Governor for all and never cared where anybody came from as he employed people from different states of Nigeria.

He recalled that it was Ezeife that employed people from Osun and Abia States who have now been made Permanent Secretaries by him.

The Governor said that he is carrying the banner from where Ezeife left off.
