Governor Chukwuma Soludo has re-assured hisadministration’s continuous support to the Military as they are crucial in the fight against insecurity.
The Governor gave the assurance through his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim when members of the House of Representatives’ committee on the Army paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Awka.
Governor Soludo commended them on various efforts towards establishment of relevant laws that will better the lives of the people, explaining that there is existence of good working relationship between members of the Federal House of Representatives in the state with his government irrespective of party affiliation, as according to him the utmost target is to achieve a livable state for Ndi Anambra.
Governor Soludo while intimating the Members on the various achievements of his administration for the state, said that through collaboration with the military and other uniformed men in the state significant feat has been achieved in the security apparatus of the state, promising to sustain the tempo of the partnership especially with the military.
The Governor used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to come together and rebuild the country as according to him they have no other country to call their own, while reminding them that the economic crunch in Nigeria presently will only last for a while as there is still hope for the nation’s greatness.
The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Army, Mr David Ogewu, explained that the team came for an oversight function in Anambra to know how the military are faring and to seek support for them in the State.
He commended Governor Soludo for his support to the military in the state and appealed for the sustenance of the gesture.
In a vote of thanks, the Member Representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife while commending Governor Soludo for rebuilding Anambra, appreciated the military for their contribution in ensuring adequate security of life and property in Anambra, and encouraged them to do more in that regard.
