About ten thousand vulnerable indigenes of Anambra State are receiving ten kilograms bag of rice each from Aliko Dangote Foundation.
The distribution exercise currently ongoing in various local government areas of the state is being facilitated by Justice Development and Peace Caritas, JDPC, of the Catholic Diocese of Awka.
the distribution exercise attracted Presidents General of all the communities in Aguata Local Government Area who were at the event to take delivery of fifty bags of the ten-kilogram bags of rice meant for every community.
Addressing the Presidents General, the Executive Director Justice Development and Peace Caritas, Awka Diocese, Reverend Father Levi Uko explained that Justice Development and Peace Caritas was chosen after a screening exercise as a credible organization that would facilitate the distribution exercise in Anambra to ensure that the ten thousand bags of ten-kilogram rice get to the targeted persons in the state.
Reverend Father Uko said that they have distributed the rice in Orumba North and South, Anaocha, Njikoka, part of Dunukofia and Aguata Local Government Areas and will continue the exercise , noting that they have a WhatsApp platform where the Presidents General are expected to send proof of the exercise in their various communities through either short video recordings or pictures.
In their various speeches, the President-General of Aguluezechukwu Community, Mr Johnpaul Ezenwaka and a representative of Uga community, Mr Innocent Obiefuna while appreciating Aliko Dangote for the gesture said that this is the moves they have been praying for especially now that the economy is biting hard on people, praying God to continue to bless the benefactor.
