As Christians celebrate the feast of Pentecost, they have been called upon to open their hearts and minds to the transformative power of the Holy Spirit that empowers man to live as faithful disciples of Christ.
The Vicar of New Jerusalem Anglican Church, Ngozika Housing Estate, Phase 2 Awka, Reverend Chinonso Ozemena- Ezeugo, who made the call while speaking on the significance of the day, noted that Pentecost marked the birth of the Church and the empowerment of believers to be witnesses of the risen Savior to the end of the earth.
Speaking on the theme, “Ignited and empowered by the Spirit, Reverend Ezeugo said that just as the disciples were filled with the holy spirit on the day of Pentecost, Christians too can experience the warmth and passion of God’s love burning within them.
He encouraged Christians to be bold witnesses of Christ’s resurrection by sharing the gospel with their families, friends and colleagues, as well as standing up for faith in the face of persecution.
