Wife of the Governor of Anambra Nonye Soludo, has maintained her commitment to improving the living condition of residents of the state-run Rehabilitation Centre, Nteje, and Model Community Children’s Home, Awka.
Mrs Soludo who stated this when she went on a routine visit to both facilities, noted that she will continue to ensure that the homes are well maintained while every resident is properly taken care of in terms of their health and what they eat.
The governor’s wife, who visited all areas of both facilities to ascertain their condition, commended the managers for taking good care of the people there and for managing the facilities well even with limited resources.
She encouraged them to always monitor the health of the residents and to also ensure that they eat the right diet and get involved in skill acquisition to occupy their time in the homes.
Mrs Soludo also pledged to continue to visit the residents and re-assured them that she is committed to their welfare and development.
In their separate remarks, the caretakers of two facilities, Reverend Sisters Lucy Nwachi and Philomena Akuchukwu, said that the governor’s wife has shown passionate commitment to the welfare of the homes.
Residents of the rehabilitation centre and the children in the home also prayed for the governor’s wife just after she shared interactive moments listening to their personal needs and stories.
Mrs Soludo visited the facilities with different drugs, sanitary products, beverages, food items, mattresses, and educational materials, among others.
