Reverend Canon John Musisi Muburi of the Anglican church of Uganda says true love does not discriminate.
In a sermon at Saint Thomas parish Umuchu during a special Thanksgiving service to Mark the end of the first session of the seventh synod of Aguata Diocese, Reverend Canon Musisi Muburi charged the faithful to always love their neighbor as self reminding them that it is act of disobedience for Christians to only love God without loving their fellow being.
He charged the faithful to always enter into covenant relationship with God, reminding them of the need to always make sacrifices for the good of others.
Reverend Canon Musisi Muburi commended the president of the Synod Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor for chosen a wonderful theme for the synod which he noted will draw the mind’s of faithful towards keeping the commandments of God.
The president of the Synod Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor who is the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, who decried the high rate of insecurity in the country, tasked the federal government on making policies that will restore people’s confidence in governance.
Right Reverend Ezeofor commended the people of Umuchu especially Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor of Amichi Diocese who is a parishioner of Saint Thomas parish Umuchu for their resilience in making the synod a success.
Bishop Ezeofor charged all the synod delegates to domesticate the knowledge garnered from the synod theme God’s Great task for the church, The great commandment in their various offices and place of work for the transformation of the society.
The President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, and wife of a former Vice President Mrs Ifeoma Ekwueme, spoke on the importance of obeying God’s commandment which is a Great task giving to Christians.
They regretted the gradual going back to Idolatry by the Youths who are the future leaders of the church and charged parents and Ministers of God to rise to the challenge.
The Host Archdeacon Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo, expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the remarkable success of the synod and tasked Christians on seeing evangelism as a collective responsibility.
In an interview the new clerical Synod secretary of Aguata Diocese Reverend Uzochukwu Mojekwu who described Synod as the highest decision making body of the Diocese promised to continue with the positive steps of his predecessor Venerable Decency Chine in piloting the affairs of the Synod secretariat.
The service was attended by the permanent secretary Anambra State Ministry of information and commerce and Industry, Sir Chinedu Ikeh, President Awka Diocesan council of Knights Sir Emma Ezenwaji, a one time president General Joint council of Knights church of Nigeria,Sir Isaiah Ezezika, while the Chancellor of Aguata Diocese Justice Pete Obiora led other Diocesan legal team to the Synod.
The Event which was attended by the Bishop of Amichi Diocese Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor and Wife Dame Nkem, and one time Special Assistant to former Governor Willie Obiano on secondary school Monitoring Dame Chinyere Mbakwe featured series of prayers for those in leadership positions, the church, Nigerian Nation and Anambra State it also featured cutting of the cake.
The president Aguata Diocesan council of Knights Sir Obiora Okeke and president General Ezira community Mr Moses Akam were also in attendance.
