Family members , friends and well-wishes gave their tributes as the remains of late Dr. Mrs Juliana Nwazuruoke were laid to rest in her husband’s compound at Umuagbaruo village, Achina in Aguata local government area.
The late Dr. Nwazuruoke who died at sixty-eight was the Provost of Anambra State College of Nursing Sciences, Nkpor and the elder sister of Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu.
The final journey of the late Provost to the great beyond commenced with a burial mass at Saint Mary’s Catholic church, Achina where the choir prayed to God to grant her soul eternal rest in His kingdom through requiem songs.
In a homily, Reverend Father John Nwaorjiakor charged Christians to be vigilant at all times by living a righteous life so that they will not die unprepared, which he said is the worst thing that can happen to a Christian and described late Dr Nwazuruoke as a dedicated catholic whose passion for nursing education inspired many to study the profession.
On his part, the younger brother of the deceased, Sir Paul thanked God for the modest and unassuming life her sister lived on earth, saying that she was a woman of integrity and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Speaking on behalf of the family of the late Nwazuruoke,her first son, Mr Gerald Nwazuruoke described her as an honest leader who believed in merit and worked for it throughout her lifetime and assured that he will stick to her legacy.
At the grave site, the President, Students Union Government, College of Nursing Nkpor, Comrade Wilson Anyaegbu who delivered a funeral oration on behalf of the union, disclosed that the deceased was a visionary leader whose commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and compassion within the college was so high
Mrs Uju Mbachu on behalf of West African College of Nursing, said that the deceased was a great administrator and a friend of all who dedicated her life to the health of humanity, while the Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr Tony Odili-Ujubuonu added that she was a woman of substance in her profession.
The burial service was attended by the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, members of Anambra State House of Assembly, top government officials, staff and students of Anambra State college of Nursing Sciences, Nkpor, Fellows of West African College of Nursing among others.
