The Special Marshals of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC have taken road safety campaign to Transport Company of Anambra, TRACAS Park, UNIZIK Junction, Awka, to enlighten drivers and road users, on importance of road safety signs when plying and using the road.

 

The State Coordinator, Anambra State Special Marshal of the FRSC, Mr. Patrick Esumai, represented by the Public Enlightenment Officer, Lady Isabella Mmakah explained that the campaign was to make drivers know and be conscious of important road signs, what they stand for and to obey them in order to prevent road accidents.

Lady Mmakah emphasized that campaign is going-on across the zones, including taking the campaign to schools, which she said would be continuous.

 

A Special Marshal member, Mr. Dozie Anigbogu noted that drivers for their safety and that of their passengers must be aware of traffic signs and warnings and obey them, commending fellow Special Marshal for their efforts towards such noble gesture.

Earlier, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, a Special Marshal, and the immediate past Director of News and Current Affairs Department of ABS, took drivers and road users present through learning of different road signs and warnings, including situations where they are applicable, as drivers who got correct interpretations of road signs displayed were given cash reward.

The Chairman, TRACAS Park, Awka Depot II, Mr. Christopher Onwudinjo and the Manager, TRACAS Company, Mr. Chukwudi Onuorah expressed happiness for the gesture by FRSC Special Marshals and said it would go a long way in bringing road safety consciousness in the minds of the drivers and minimize road crashes.
