Team Electrify has won the sum of five hundred thousand naira after emerging winners at the just concluded Techstars Startup Weekend Onitsha, organised by Solution Innovation District, SID.

 

The young techstars within fifty-two hours, developed an IOT energy device, that gives users access to electricity at an affordable rate.

Other teams are the Team FITS, Fire Tackling System, who developed a system that sends a signal to the fire service to alert them of immediate fire outbreak and the Team Lifeline that developed an app where people can register to donate blood to hospitals for easy access in case of emergency.

 

Addressing the techstars, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Anambra State, Honourable Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche, who was astonished by the performances of the team, encouraged them to keep building their ideas into reality.

Speaking to the ABS in separate interviews, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Innovation, Mr Ikechukwu Anajemba said the programme is to accomplish Governor Soludo’s agenda to incubate technology enabled startups in Anambra state.

 

According to them, the programme will help people to see that they can actually build solutions to different sectors, assuring them that the Solution Innovation District will ensure that these ideas get to investors and the market at large.

Some of the team members who spoke to the ABS, Valentine Nnamani and Zion Echezona, appreciated the Solution Innovation District for creating an avenue where they can put their ideas to work.
