The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Awka, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, has congratulates the six students of Christ the King College, Onitsha, for defeating counterparts from USA and Turkey in a recent global competition, World Affairs Challenge.

 

The six students were Ernest Ekufu, Somtochukwu Obuna, Ifechukwu Agbanaje, Emmanuel Umodinka, Ekene Ejike and Jason Uba.

The PPSSC Chairman made the commendation when she monitored ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, in Secondary Schools in Onitsha Educational Zone.

 

Schools visited include Christ the King College, CKC, Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, New Era Girls Secondary School, Prince Memorial High School, Saint Charles College, all in Onitsha.

At CKC, Professor Ikediugwu expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the students; starting from the Proprietor and Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, Principal, Reverend Father Celestine Okafor, and all the staff of the school.

 

She said the students made the country proud, and appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for improving the general welfare of the school system.

At New Era Girls Secondary School, the Principal, Mrs Cordelia Okonkwo, was seen outside the school making sure that all was going on well.

 

The school was neat and teachers were in their various classes teaching but the WASSCE was yet to start as at 9:42am.

 

At Prince Memorial High School, the Principal was on seat, but some of the classes had no teachers, and Professor Ikediugwu asked the Principal to summon the teachers who missed their classes to come to PPSSC headquarters for their queries.

 

The WASSCE was yet to start at the school as at 9:56 am.

At DMGS, the Principal, Venerable Chigozie Anieto, was on seat and Professor Ikediugwu observed that the WASSCE exam was going on well; with the environment very neat.

 

At Saint Charles College, the students were almost through with the exam when the Chairman arrived, and the Principal, Reverend Father Emmanuel Emenu, reported that the examination went well.

 

The PPSSC Chairman charged principals of secondary schools to always make available the teachers attendance register when needed.
