The All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has commenced nationwide electronic registration of members.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo who is the National Leader of the party performed his registration alongside his wife, Nonye and daughter, Adaora at their ward in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
Governor Soludo described the event as historic, noting that once again, APGA is showing the light as the first political party to be fully digitized.
Governor Soludo noted that with the process, a national register will be generated and updated periodically, as more people register, asking APGA faithful to register with their complete family members and wards.
He stressed that members will be issued a different kind of membership card that looks like the current voters card, revealing that the party is trying to reinstate the supremacy of APGA as well as demonstrate that their duty is to the party and the people.
Earlier, the National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Slyvester Ezeokenwa pointed out that , the Governor has set the tone and is making a clear statement that APGA will continue to evolve being the foremost progressive political party in the country.
While stating that with the successful commencement, APGA has become the first political party in Nigeria to be fully digitized, Barrister Ezeokenwa added that the party will continue to set the pace because they have a progressive Governor.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of APGA, Barrister Ifeatu Obi-Okoye said that the project clearly demonstrates that registration is at the ward level, just as the Isuofia Ward Chairman, Mrs Nonso Enwelum said that with the innovation, it is not going to be business as usual in the party as the card shows that the carrier is a bona-fide member of APGA.
The continuous registration can either be done using the online or offline platforms.
The process involves profile capturing with customized software under the party’s control, authenticated and reflected down to the polling unit.
