The eighteenth convocation ceremonies of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has ended with a task on universities to continue to emphasize on trainings in entrepreneurship to enable the graduates become job creators, instead of perennial job seekers.

 

President Bola Tinubu who gave the charge at the Convocation Arena in Awka, said he has no doubt that the Nigerian Universities can find a lasting solution to problems facing the country.

President Tinubu who spoke through the Director, Tertiary Education in the Federal Ministry of Education, Lady Rakiya Ilyasu stated that education cannot be considered in isolation from the labour market, which is to absorb the products from the various tiers of education and as such, through the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, recently Inaugurated the Labour Employment Enhancement Programme.

Speaking shortly after receiving their certificates, Dr Prisca Nwankwo of the Anambra Broadcasting Service and Dr Nkechi Anazodo said that acquiring more learning adds value to one’s life.

The convocation which involved seven thousand and ninety-one first degree, ninety-six Post Graduate Diploma, three hundred and ninety-one Masters and two hundred and fifty-one Doctor of Philosophy attracted the wife of the governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo, top government officials and visitors of the university who were conferred with different Honorary Doctorates.
