Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo has encouraged public officers and affluent individuals in the state to take up enrollment of their people into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme as part of their social responsibility to poor communities.

Mrs Soludo who stated this during the recent inauguration of Human-Papilloma-Virus vaccination in Anambra State, explained that such model, if comprehensively adopted, will reduce the burden on the state’s health sector and boost life expectancy in the state.

She noted that the affordability and coverage of the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme make it most unique, adding that the current administration understands the need to provide quality, accessible and affordable health care for every resident of the state.

The Governor’s wife said that public office holders and well-to-do individuals should explore opportunities offered by the scheme to benefit the people of their communities, especially those who are under privileged.

Mrs Soludo further added that religious institutions and social groups could also champion the enrollment for members, stressing that the general idea is to provide quality and cost-effective assistance to individuals and homes that cannot afford basic healthcare.

The governor’s wife went further to explain that if the state’s health insurance benefits could be comprehensively explored, Ndi Anambra will get better from it, and common sicknesses, which often lead to death, could be prevented.

She also urged individuals and families who can afford the premium to enroll in the scheme and save themselves from spending huge capital from ailments that could easily be taken care of by health insurance.

Mrs Soludo urged young families to take advantage of the ongoing free antenatal care and delivery services in the state, which also covers caesarean section births and other natal procedures.
