More commendations and felicitations are still trailing the two recent Awards received by Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the Governor of the Year on Infrastructure and Rural Development as well as the award for significant contributions to the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria.
Paul Ezeoke reports that in his reaction, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene said that the awards are well deserved as the Governor has continued to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state.
Chief Okeke Ogene noted that Governor Soludo has within two years in office transformed all sectors of the State economy and improved human capital development by embarking on projects that impact directly on the lives of the people and that he is equally laying a strong foundation as well as providing the template for sustainable development.
He observed that the Governor has also gone beyond his campaign promises to execute projects that have accelerated transformation of the state, including the ongoing Ekwulobia Flyover and dualization of some strategic roads which when completed, would help to boost the tempo of socio-economic activities and open up more rural communities.
Chief Okeke Ogene commended the size and quality of drainage systems and other components of road infrastructure being executed by the Governor, noting that for the first time in the state, there is intentional and committed approach to raise the status of Awka as a state capital and urged the political class to always embrace constructive criticisms and avoid undermining good governance for political reasons.
Also speaking, a community leader, Chief Chris Ndukwe said that the awards are confirmation that Nigerians appreciate the Governor’s outstanding performances so far, calling on other Southeast Governors to emulate him in order to transform the zone.
