Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured of continuous support towards sports development at the grassroot level through school sport.

 

 

 

Governor Soludo gave the assurance at the Awka City Stadium during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Anambra School Sports Festival, a programme of the Anambra Sports Solution Initiative powered by the Anambra State Sports Development Commission under the leadership of Chief Patrick Onyedum.

 

 

 

Governor Soludo affirmed that student athletes discovered through the 2024 Anambra Sports Solution Initiative have the capacity of winning laurels at National sporting events with most of the athletes having the potential to represent the State and the nation at International Sporting programmes.

 

 

 

Governor Soludo promised to improve the financial support during the third edition of the Anambra Sports Solution Initiative next year, and extolled the Anambra State Sports Development Commission Chairman, Chief Onyedum and his team for the successes recorded in the course of the competition.

 

 

 

Community Secondary School Amanuke emerged overall champions in the Senior Secondary School Category with twenty gold medals ahead of Vision High School Nnewi who finished second with eighteen gold and Stella Maris Secondary School Umueri who came third with thirteen Gold Medals.

 

For the Junior category, Vision High School Nnewi were the champions with nineteen gold ahead of Community Secondary School Amanuke that finished as the first runners-up with twelve gold and Ado Girls Secondary School Onitsha with nine gold medals.

 

 

 

In the Primary School level, Development Primary School Abata, Nsugbe finished tops on the medals’ table with fifteen gold ahead of Ovuakwu Primary School Umueri who finished second with eight gold as Premier Primary School Aguleri settled for third place with eight gold medals.
