In displaying the cardinal responsibility of the government in ensuring adequate protection of lives and property, governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured the Trans-Nkisi Phase two land allottees that their lands are secured at all times.

The governor who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Maazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu said that the government cannot allow any form of indiscipline, impunity and intimidation of any kind to thrive in Anambra.

addressing the land allottees, Maazi Okpalaezeukwu said that they visited the plots for an on-the-spot assessment, following series of petitions written by the allottees that their lands have been taken by land grabbers who stationed armed men in the said layout, and that most of them who tried to develop their properties were beaten and their properties demolished.

Maazi Okpalaezeukwu who said that the government of Prof. Soludo can never allow injustice and indiscipline to thrive in the state, assured them that government will look into the matter with a view to addressing it, promising them that everybody who have a genuine land in the said estate will regain his or her property from the land grabbers soonest as government has the master plan of the area.

The Chairman of the layout, Chief Ejike Anuna explained p that government allocated the place to them since 1978, and that they always pay all the levies due for the place to the government, regretting that for the past four years, they never stepped into the layout as hoodlums have chased them away, demolished their properties and stationed armed men who terrorize them in the layout.

Chief Anuna, who thanked governor Soludo for coming to their aid, appealed to him to help them to reclaim their lands from those who wanted to kill them and take over their properties.

Some of the allottees in the layout, Barrister Paulinus Okani, Sir Christian Okeke and Tochukwu Obi all corroborated the story that their properties had been demolished and the layout defaced by those who torment their lives daily, calling on the governor to come to their rescue.

At the layout, ABS observed that most properties in the area have been demolished and the same plot resold to another individual by the land grabbers, going against all the government’s approved plans for the layout.

An illegal sand and concrete mining site were equally seen in the area, causing artificial erosion that may start swallowing buildings in the vicinity.

When the team arrived at the layout, some armed hoodlums that were stationed in the layout by the land grabbers scampered for safety, a confirmation that they were illegally brought to the area.
