Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts has expressed satisfaction with the financial verification from the Office of the Governor for the year ended December 31st, 2023.

 

The Committee led by the member representing Ogbaru Constituency One, Honourable Noble Igwe, also assessed the Ministry of Information, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, and the Information Communication Technology Agency.

After reviewing the audited reports, Honourable Igwe expressed satisfaction with the transparent accounts by the ministries and agencies.

 

He urged them to continue maintaining the standard, which he noted aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of accountable governance and proper use of public funds.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Office of the Governor, the Principal Secretary to Governor Soludo, Barrister Joachim Anaeto, thanked the Committee for carrying out their legislative function, and assured that the Governor’s Office will continue to abide by rules that ensure the state’s progress.

On his part, the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, provided an overview of the ministry’s activities and account, and thanked the House of Assembly for ensuring checks and balances, as well as performing their duties diligently.

 

The Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, Mr. Fred Agbata of Information Communication Technology Agency, and the Managing Director of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, were also present during the assessment.
