The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for signing eleven bills into law yesterday, describing it as a welcome development.
The bills that were signed into law are; Anambra State Electoral Law, 2024, Anambra State Touting Prohibition Law, 2024, Secret Cult and Similar Activities Prohibition Law, 2024, Health Facilities and Accreditation Agency Law, 2024.
Others are, Anambra State Peace Building and Conflict Management Agency, Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission Law, 2024, Market Safety and Protection Law, 2024.
The rest are, Trafficking in Person Prohibition Law, 2024, Anambra State Private Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2024, Law to Amend the Anambra State House of Assembly Service Commission Law 2021 and for other Connected Purposes, as well as Anambra State Revenue Administration (Consolidated Harmonization) Law, 2024.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Hon. Nweke described all the laws as people oriented and noted that they will help the Soludo administration to move the State forward.
The Lawmaker maintained that Anambra State Touting Prohibition Law would help immensely in checkmating the excesses of touting in the state, and called on the youths who normally engage in touting to stop forthwith to avoid the wraths of the law.
He further extolled the Governor for signing into law the Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, saying that it will help oil and gas producing areas to benefit maximally from their natural resources as well as help to ensure that youth restiveness is not recorded in the state.
Hon. Nweke, a lawyer further pointed out that those bills that were signed into law by Governor Soludo is a clear testament that he has the interest of Ndi Anambra at heart at all times.
He assured that the current Anambra legislature will continue to work with the Executive arm of government for the overall development of the state, as well as help the current Anambra State government in building a liveable, secure and prosperous homeland.
