Mr. Francis Ezenwa has been invested as the ninth Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Awka and District Society.

 

The investiture held in Awka, the Anambra State capital was graced by the Traditional ruler of Uga in Aguata Local Government Area, Igwe Dr Stephen Ezenwugo.

It also featured investure lecture on “Accountants in the new world order: Using professional skills to save the world” delivered by the Chairman of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr Greg Ezeilo.

 

In a welcome address, the Investure Committee Chairman, Mr. Anthony Anyadufu, described the event as remarkable, as another seasoned accountant has taken over leadership of the institute.

In his opening remark, the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Obi Okechukwu expressed happiness that the association has continued to thrive over the years, and prayed that the incoming Chairman leaves the district better than he met it.

In his valedictory remark, the eight and immediate past Chairman of the association, Mr. Emmanuel Modozie, who thanked members for the privilege and support in serving the association in various capacities, which he said witnessed remarkable achievements and enriched his experiences, urged members to extend same support to his successor.

In his inaugural speech after inaugurating his executive committee team, Mr. Ezenwa, expressed optimism that with the support of their members, he will take the association to a greater height.

The event featured fundraising for the district bus and award presentations to deserving individuals.
