In his quest to curtail the health dangers of open-defecation, the member representing Aguata Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Tony Muobike, has commissioned and officially handed over a toilet facility in Community Secondary School, Agulu-Ezechukwu.

 

The commissioning of the eight-room water cistern convenience had in attendance teachers, students, members of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, parents and some members of Agulu-Ezechukwu community.

Baring his mind on the reason for the facility, Honourable Muobike explained that it was in fulfilment of some of his campaign promises to address the needs of his constituents, and thanked God for making the day a reality.

 

The lawmaker described lack of convenience facility in a school environment as a health disaster to both the students and the host community, speaking from the perspective of a health professional he is.

He promised to bring to the attention of Governor Chukwuma Soludo the challenges of lack of fence and gully erosion facing the school, saying that he is following the footsteps of the Governor by impacting the lives of the people positively.

 

Honourable Muobike, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health, reminded the gathering that election period is drawing close, and the responsibility of his constituents is to keep supporting Governor Soludo, as well as vote for him again.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, described the Lawmaker as a man of his words, and an inspiration who is toeing the path of social welfare governance Governor Soludo is known for.

 

He charged the Principal of the school to ensure that the facility is well maintained for sustainability, and frowned at lack of maintenance culture among Nigerians, stressing the need for such mentality to change.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Stella -Maris Okoye, who appreciated Honourable Muobike for building the convenience in not more than one month he visited their school and found out that the old toilet facility they have is dilapidated, prayed God to replenish him.

 

Others who spoke at the event include the second Vice President-General of Agulu-Ezechukwu, Chief Ejike Okoli, APGA Ward Chairman in Agulu-Ezechukwu, Mr. Harold Obianika, and the Counselor, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Agulu-Ezechukwu ward, Mr. Joseph Izundu.

 

They all eulogized the Lawmaker for the democracy dividends he has been bringing to Aguata Two Constituency, saying that they came to see with their eyes what they have been hearing about him, adding that the Lawmaker is giving the constituency a commendable representation.

 

Official commissioning of the project, welcome song and group photographs were the highlights of the day.
