Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated the 2024 Local Government Service Commission Week at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre in Awka.

 

During the ceremony Governor Soludo commended the commission for its input towards making the local government system effective and described it as part of the process of rebuilding the public service.

The Governor stressed that Anambra and Nigeria need value rebirth, and tasked local government workers to be the change they want to see and work towards building a society that creates value with its accruable benefits.

A former Aviation Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka in a Keynote speech commended Governor Soludo for demonstrating exemplary leadership and urged civil servants to always apply civility in all their conduct.

Earlier, the Chairman of Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Barrister Vincent Ezeaka promised to continue to drive the solution mandate down the local government system.

This year’s local government service commission week has its theme: as Value Rebirth Through Digital Transformation: Solution ICT Agenda.

The event was attended by Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo, Transition Committee Chairmen, Traditional Ruler of Okpuno, Igwe Sunday Okafor, Traditional Ruler of Omor, Igwe Chris Chidume, his Ogidi counterpart, Igwe Alex Onyido, local government workers, among others.
