In a bid to build a bright future for the younger generation, Nnokwa youths has organized a sensitization programme to raise awareness on the negative impact of social vices and also best approach towards making the best career choices.

 

The event which took place at Ubili Civic center, Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area featured lectures on dangers associated with social vices.

The guest speakers including, Dr Nkem Okafor, Sir Charles Abaekih and Mrs Adamaka Edozie, advised the students to build a bright future through the chosen careers.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Mrs. Amaka Obi, who commended the initiative cautioned the students against social vices.

The Chairman Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, represented by Head of ICT, Post Primary Schools Service Commission Mr. Modestus Ogbuezi, described the programme as unique and encouraged the students to maximize the opportunity.

 

She called on the students to also utilize the friendly environment created by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to advance their performances and be great ambassadors of the society.

Earlier, the Nnokwa youth President, Mr. Ifeanyi Eriobu, in his opening remark, emphasized that rate of moral decadence in the society and the level of involvement of young people in social vices necessitated the event.

 

On behalf the students, Miss Chisom Ude of Ave Maria Secondary school, thanked Nnokwa youths for the initiative and assured that they will put into practice what they learnt to become great people for a better society.

The programme which was very interactive attracted students from the four secondary schools in Nnokwa, the President-General of Nnokwa Progress Union, Chief Joe Anyika, among others featured presentation of gifts.
