An academia and businessman, Professor Marcel Ezenwoye, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s developmental strides in the past two years in office.

 

Ezenwoye, who is a Professor of Education, stated this while answering questions from newsmen on the affairs of the state; and said that the Governor has brought visible developments in almost all sectors of the Anambra economy since he assumed office barely two years ago.

 

The Peace Ambassador extolled the Governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development, especially road constructions and the ongoing construction of Ekwulobia flyover and its adjoining internal roads, construction of school of nursing and midwifery Ekwulobia, adding that as a health professional, he is ready to contribute his quota in the school voluntarily.

 

He described the construction and ongoing construction of over four hundred kilometers of road by the Soludo administration as unprecedented and phenomenal in the history of Anambra, urging him to sustain the momentum, eve as he revealed that they have instituted a scholarship scheme in Paul University Awka to enable one thousand indigent students study courses of their choice.

 

The academia pointed out that the free antenatal and delivery services granted to pregnant women and mothers by the current administration in the state has significantly reduced maternal mortality rate in the state and advised the Governor to continue his massive investment in the health sector, as adequate health services is key to economic development of any nation.

 

He however urged Governor Soludo to redouble his efforts in tackling insecurity in the state, as cases of killings and kidnappings are still popping up recklessly across some local government areas and communities in Anambra South Senatorial Zone, even as he disclosed that over ten thousand Ndi Anambra in diaspora, whom he represents, are ready to come and partner the Soludo administration through “Akuluo Uno” philosophy.

 

The business mogul maintained that effective security network is one of the models for good governance in the developed countries, even as he charged residents of the state to be alive to their responsibilities; as security is everybody’s business.

 

According to Professor Ezenwoye, the recent awards won by Governor Soludo, especially as the Champions Newspaper Man of the year 2023 on infrastructure and rural development award is well deserved, and also described the recent appointment of the Governor as the Vice Chairman, Southern Governor’s Forum as a step in the right direction.

 

He called on Governor Soludo to use his new position to advocate for equitable distribution of resources by the federal government and other pressing issues facing the southeast region, especially insecurity and discrimination in terms of job opportunities and appointments in key federal government ministries, departments and agencies in the interest of peace, justice and fairness.
