Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has concluded the screening exercise and revalidation of the master trainers ahead of one Youth two Skills programme phase two.

 

The exercise which lasted four days at the government house, Awka, saw the screening and revalidation of over six hundred master trainers’ from across the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the state.

Addressing the master trainers the Commissioner for Youth development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba stated that the aim of the exercise is to ensure that the centers where the youths will be trained are of the needed standard.

 

Mr. Agha Mba commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who he described as youth-friendly, for approving the Second Batch of one Youth two Skills Solution.

He stated that the second phase of the one Youth two Skills Programme will be coming with a lot of innovations, which include the retraining and certification of Master Trainers by a recognized and reputable agency as a means of ensuring that the quality assurance emphasis Governor Soludo on the standard of training is achieved.

 

Mr. Agha Mba noted that the retraining and certification will be free of cost for the selected Master Trainers as the Governor has graciously approved that the Government of Anambra State will bear the cost.

Other innovations to the programme according to the Commissioner, are the Youths to Agriculture Scheme, Anawood Scheme, Online Entrepreneurship Programme and application of digital technology in data management among others.

 

He also said that the second phase of the programme will also witness the empowerment of ten thousand Anambra youths in the Apprenticeship, Entrepreneurship, Business Financing and Mentorship Schemes of the programme a one hundred percent improvement on the previous phase.

The Commissioner expressed the hope that the beneficiaries will continue to impact positively to the economic growth of the state and revealed that six hundred training centers and trainers will be engaged across the state for the second phase.
