The Dualisation of Amawbia-Nise-Agulu-Ekwulobia road is now on top gear as massive construction work is ongoing on the road.

Works correspondent Ngozi Obileri who monitored the pace and quality of work on the road reports that men of GELD Construction Company were seen working at various portions of the road, as the company started work behind Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia and has reached Nise town.

She noted that when the ABS arrived the site, clearing and earthwork as well as drainage construction were ongoing with heavy duty equipment seen bringing in materials.

Speaking to the ABS, the Site Manager, Engineer Nazim Ahrba said that they were working on both sides of the road simultaneously to be able to meet the one year deadline of the road.

According to Ahrba, the state government has been supportive to ensure that the work is completed on schedule as it has been providing everything necessary to facilitate the project, and also commended the communities along the road for their cooperation.

An indigene of Nise community, Mr Anthony Ikeji, whose building is affected, said that he is exceptionally happy with the development as many administrations had come and gone and left them with unfulfilled promises, thanking Governor Chukwuma Soludo for taking the bold step to re-construct the road.

The Amawbia-Nise-Agulu-Ekwulibia federal road is fifteen kilometers in length.
