The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka has revealed that the Agulu water scheme which is currently undergoing resuscitation would be ready in earnest.

 

Mr Commissioner disclosed this when he went for an inspection visit at the site recently.

 

Engineer Chukwuemeka said that the State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo is determined in keeping to his promise of making clean and portable water supply available to the people of the state.

He noted that upon its completion, the Agulu water scheme would cover parts of Nanka, Obeledu, Akwaeze, Aguluzigbo and other neighbouring communities.

 

The Commissioner stated that with the solar farm installation, that constant water supply is assured and urged the benefitting communities to take ownership of the water scheme and every other public utility in their areas to prevent theft and vandalism.

The Managing Director of Anambra State Water Resource Management Agency, Engineer Ikeobi Ejiofor, the Director of Water Resources in the ministry, among others, joined Commissioner Chukwuemeka on the inspection.
