A former member of the House of Representatives Chief Chinedu Onwuaso has called on Ndigbo to unite and learn how to speak with one voice especially in matters affecting them.

In an interview with Abuchi Nwozor in Awka, Chief Onwuaso, who represented Awka North and South federal constituency in the National Assembly from 2019 to 2023, lamented the inability of people of Igbo extraction to work together towards achieving their goals.

He urged the federal government to explore ways to release Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), from detention, which he believes would bring lasting peace and enhance security of lives and property in the South East geopolitical zone.

Chief Onwuaso, who is an Engineer, blamed the problem of Nigeria on greed and selfishness, and called on federal and various state governments to map out far reaching measures that will improve the living standards of the people.

He stressed the need for the federal government to create more business friendly environment that will continue to attract expatriates in doing business in Nigeria in addition to strengthening local firms to boost the economy.

On incessant building collapses across the country Chief Onwuaso blamed it on the engagement of unprofessionals in building construction, and charged developers to always seek the services of seasoned Engineers in building construction in order to reduce the high rate of building collapse across the country.

Chief Onwuaso urged Nigerians to be prayerful and creative in the business environment.

He also advocated the creation of additional states in the South East geopolitical zone to achieve parity with other zones.

Furthermore, he emphasized the need for security in farm lands to enable farmers to work without fear and suggested that vigilantes should be more active in securing farmlands to promote safe and productive environment for economic growth.
