The governors of the South East region have been commended for resolving to pursue regional security and economic integration as well as the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

 

Speaking in Awka, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene said such collaboration will enable them forge united front to achieve collective interest of the zone.

 

Chief Okeke Ogene expressed satisfaction that the forum is responding positively to the yearnings and aspirations of the people, noting that unity of purpose would accelerate overall development and straighten security across the zone.

 

He expressed confidence that the release of Nnamdi Kanu would end agitations, insecurity and restore normalcy in the region.

 

Chief Okeke Ogene urged them to pursue regional development agenda that would include interstate rail transport system to link the five states as well as interstate road infrastructure that would enhance socioeconomic activities and boost volume of trade and commerce.

 

He noted that these would also attract more investors to various parts of the region and increase pace of development in communities and rural areas that would generate employment opportunities for youths and discourage rural -Urban drift.

 

Meanwhile, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been extolled for sustained interventions in transforming and repositioning the health sector.

 

Speaking in Awka, the National Patron of Anambra Demand for Soludo, Chief Henry Igboeli said this has given the people accessible and affordable health care services which according to him has continued to raise the state health indices.

 

Chief Igboeli noted that the hospitals and health centers are now providing quality health care services across the state while the state health insurance scheme has made it easy for poor people to go to hospital to receive treatment without financial burden.

 

He said the Governor is fulfilling the promises he made to the people and gradually launching the state on the course of sustainable development.
