The nineteenth Aguata Diocesan Women’s conference has ended at Saint Mary’s church Ogbunka in Orumba South local government area with a call on Christians to help in bringing the needed transformation in the society by living exemplary lives.
In an eighteen point communiqué issued at the end of the conference which has its theme as the Great task for the church, the Great commandment,” Aguata Diocesan Women’s conference decried the high rate of disobedience in the society, which it blamed on the lack of knowledge of God and tasked the faithful on continuous studying the commandments of God and abiding by them in order to make heaven.
It called for total respect for the constituted authorities, adding that Nigerians should see reasons in remembering their various Leaders in prayers to enable them continue to live up to their promises.
The conference commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his intervention in critical sectors of the economy, especially in Education where he employed over five thousand teachers, distribution of laptops to head teachers of primary schools and principals of secondary schools as well as his free basic education policy which will go a long way in ensuring quality teaching and learning across the State.
It commended the one youth two skills Initiative of the Soludo administration, erosion control, massive road construction, especially the ongoing fly over in Ekwulobia, saying that all the projects are indications that Governor Soludo is committed to improving the living standards of Ndi Anambra and called on the people to continue with their support and prayers to his administration.
The conference eulogized the efforts of the wife of the Governor Mrs Nonye Soludo in advocating the importance of women being alive to their basic responsibilities, especially at home through Intentional parenting, gardening in addition to eating natural foods for a healthy living and commended the Diocese for its continuous support and encouragement to widows in the Diocese, calling for its sustainability.
While thanking the Agriculture Committee of Aguata Diocese led by the President of the Laity Council of the Diocese, Sir Felix Chinedu for their advocacy on using organic manure for farming, the conference urged all parishes in the Diocese to key into agriculture to ensure food security.
The communiqué which was signed by the President of the Conference, Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor and four others, thanked the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor who is also the Patron of the Diocesan Women’s Ministry for his support, as well as the Archdeacon of Ogbunka Archdeaconry, Venerable Ferguson Ezeokafor and the parishioners of Saint Mary’s and Saint Luke’s church Ogbunka for living up to the expectations, calling for God’s grace and blessings on them.
It commended the efforts of the federal government in the fight against drug related activities, and stressed the need for the government to create more opportunities for the teeming youths to divert their minds from crimes and tasked delegates to domesticate all the knowledge garnered from the conference in their various families, communities, church and their places of work to build a God fearing and decent society.
